Why do you think it’s important for companies to invest in a DE&I strategy?

First and foremost, I think it is the right thing to do. I think companies invest in a DE&I strategy to foster greater community engagement and cohesion between staff members and with our broader communities. Additionally, diversity of experiences, ideas, and backgrounds is paramount to innovation and creativity!

Why did you join the VETS ERG?

I joined the ERG because I feel it’s important to give back to the community and programs I benefited from in my pivot from military to civilian life. I believe in supporting fellow Veterans and building greater connectivity to our broader network across companies and communities.

What’s the most exciting experience you have had as a member of the VETS ERG?

The most exciting experience I have had is representing Maximus for the Onward2Opportunity hiring event virtual cohort launch. I was able to interact with over 150 Veterans globally and share our story with others.

What’s the biggest impact you think VETS can have on Maximus and/or the community?

I think the biggest impact VETS can have for Maximus is to support Veterans with the camaraderie and shared experience that we leave behind as we separate from military service. In addition, VETS empowers Veterans to build ties with their communities, which I feel is an essential need for Veterans as we transition to civilian life.
