The MAXIMUS Foundation recently presented a grant to the Hays-Caldwell Women's Center (HCWC). The award will assist the HCWC in their mission of creating a community environment where violence and abuse are not tolerated. HCWC was also a MAXIMUS Foundation grant recipient in 2012 and 2013.
The HCWC provides education, violence prevention services and crisis intervention to victims of family violence, sexual assault and child abuse. The HCWC is unique in that it simultaneously operates an emergency shelter (McCoy Family Shelter), a Children's Advocacy Center (Roxanne's House), as well as a Counseling and Resource Center. The HCWC also operates a 24-hour confidential crisis and information phone line for victims of abuse and their supportive loved ones. HCWC’s crisis intervention is a holistic approach to help victims heal, gain stability, and move forward in their lives, free from violence.
