Facilities & Administrative Long Form Workshop

The MAXIMUS Higher Education Practice is pleased to announce the “OMB Circular A-21 F&A Long Form Workshop" from April 25-27, 2012. Held in Northbrook, Illinois, this workshop is a great educational and networking opportunity.

MAXIMUS is providing a workshop that focuses on an introduction to OMB Circular A-21 and facilities and administrative cost rate development using the long-form methodology for our fourth year.  The workshop runs from Wednesday at 8:30 am to Friday at 12:00 pm.  The cost is $800 per participant and each participant receives 16 CPE credits. It is not required that a participant be employed by an existing MAXIMUS-served institution. 

This workshop provides an overview and introduction to the requirements under OMB Circular A-21 (2 CFR, Part 220) for preparing the long-form F&A cost rate proposal. This course assists cost accountants, cost analysis managers, administrators for research and sponsored projects, controllers, budget directors, and internal and external auditors gain a working knowledge and better understanding of the F&A rate development process.

Our workshop instructors include Director Steve Bradley and Senior Manager Mitzi Singleton, along with Julie Jarvis, Director of Cost Analysis from the University of Illinois, Urbana. Instructors will discuss treatment of unallowable costs, cost pool development and allocation, assignment of cost to direct bases, and the cost accounting standards. They will also review the standard proposal requirements and a sample standard proposal submittal prepared using the Comprehensive Rate Information System (CRIS). In addition, there will be a discussion of the negotiation process, strategy and current negotiation issues.
