Last month, the MAXIMUS Foundation hosted its first annual SUMMER SHOWDOWN, a friendly competition among MAXIMUS offices across the United States. The goal of the initiative was to recognize employee engagement and incite some friendly inter-office competition!
For this event, the Foundation recognized the top offices in three office size categories who either had the highest percent of new contributors or the highest percentage of contributors doubling their contribution. The Foundation also presented Special Recognition Awards for the offices that truly embraced the philanthropic spirit of the competition.
Special Recognition Awards
Many of our offices worked together to increase awareness and engagement! Thank you to the following teams who went above and beyond.
Sweet Treats: Southeast Health Operations
Foundation Ambassadors in Florida set goals for employee engagement and held a successful regional bake sale to encourage participation. Ambassadors in Tennessee held jeans days and executed a variety of communication pieces to raise awareness. The Ambassadors surpassed their goals and truly encompassed the community awareness objective of both the Company and the Foundation.
Start at the Top: Ticket to Work
Foundation Ambassadors in Maryland and Virginia crafted and led the initiative, following a three-tiered approach resulting in the highest total number of new contributors. Their approach started at the top with project management engagement and included working with marketing and communications to deliver office-wide reminders, highlighting the impact of their participation through the Foundation in their local communities.
Engage from the Beginning: New York Health Operations
Through Foundation Ambassador communications, the Enrollment Center project in Albany, New York was amongst the highest in new employee participation recruitment. Their added contributions enable the MAXIMUS Foundation to support and grow our grantmaking program, supporting worthy nonprofit organizations in our local communities.
Year-Round Leadership: Texas Health Operations
Employees in Texas serve as a year-round leader in philanthropic engagement, continuing to top the charts with overall contributions. Their Ambassadors and management go above and beyond, thinking of new and fun ways to encourage participation from raffles to grantee visits to volunteer opportunities.
Teamwork Makes Us Stronger: California Health Operations
The Ambassadors in Rancho Cordova, California work together throughout the year supporting a variety of engagement initiatives. This teamwork enables them to share volunteer responsibilities and continue to see increased participation all year long!
