MAXIMUS has assisted the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and the Puget Sound Regional Transit Providers with strategic planning, clearinghouse design, and acquisition support services for their electronic toll collection and automated fare collection systems.


The Federal and Intelligent Technologies Division of MAXIMUS assists departments of transportation, including transit agencies and toll authorities, in identifying and addressing emerging issues in Electronic Payment Systems (EPS), such as system interoperability, closed-to-open system migration, evolving standards, and the risks associated with public/private partnerships.

MAXIMUS services include providing requirements analysis and acquisition support for advanced fare and toll payment technologies and developing methodologies for allocating costs and profit in a clearing house shared by multiple agencies.
