Job Description:

The Associate Consultant assists state and local government clients in defining the clients’ people, process and/or technology solutions. These solutions help governments improve efficiencies and provide higher quality comprehensive services.

The Associate Consultant may be hired to support any of the following business practices:

  • Special Education Services
  • Higher Education Services
  • Health Services
  • Human Services
  • Systems Integrity Services
  • Financial Services

Responsibilities:

  • Examine an agency's activities, resources and services to improve their program efficiencies
  • Produce project deliverables such as scope of work requirements, financial objectives and implementation time frames
  • Collaborate with clients to determine and deliver their solutions
  • Test new business systems and processes
  • Train end users on new business solutions
  • Travel up to 40 percent may be required

Qualifications:

MAXIMUS seeks graduating seniors of any major, but will give preference to the following:

  • Public Policy
Technical Skills/Knowledge Required:
  • Expertise in all MS Office applications
Subject Matter Expertise/Experience Preferred:
  • Strong quantitative analytical skills
  • High degree of business aptitude
  • Track record in both building and managing client and internal relationships
Personal/Soft Skills:
  • Demonstrated multi-tasking abilities
  • Exceptional interpersonal communications skills
  • Extensive leadership experience in either work or extracurricular activities
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to work effectively within project teams
