When working with employers, the MAXIMUS Tax Credit and Employer Services practice finds that most are generally aware of the Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) program. Yet millions of dollars in WOTC incentives go unclaimed each year, even though employers are hiring from designated target groups. We developed an infographic to help employers see, at a glance, the wide range of eligible applicant populations: from veterans to individuals with disabilities, long-term welfare recipients and ex-felons.

When it comes to helping employers realize their tax credit potential, MAXIMUS is both pioneering and progressive. Our extensive history in providing tax credit services dates back to 1978, when we began helping companies process their new hires through the Targeted Jobs Tax Credit program. In 1996, we helped the Internal Revenue Service and the U.S. Department of Labor successfully develop the WOTC program.

Today, MAXIMUS helps employers identify WOTC-eligible candidates and capture these often-overlooked tax benefits – with little to no additional demand on their human resources staff.
